Before starting driving lessons you need to be at least 17 years old and hold a UK provisional licence; you do not need to have passed your theory test.

To apply for a licence, complete a D1 form obtainable from the Post Office and send it to the DVLA with your passport or birth certificate and a passport-sized photo.
